Next Stop Iceland has 40 partner hotels in Reykjavík. We work only with Icelandic hotels, not international chains. We inspect our partner hotels regularly, and we continually review the list of hotels we offer. All of our partner hotels have a rating of at least 70% (3.5) on TripAdvisor. We classify our partner hotels according to our own star system. 


  • One star: hostel dormitories for a shoestring budget. Clean, well-presented rooms with shared bathrooms. Bed linen and towels are usually hired. Breakfast is available but optional, with an extra charge. Private en-suite rooms are also available.

  • Two stars: compact rooms for an economy budget. Rooms have fresh bed linen and towels, a private en-suite bathroom and free wireless internet. The hotel has a reception desk arranging bookings for taxis, excursions and airport transfers. Breakfast is included.

  • Three stars: standard rooms for a mid-range budget. Rooms have the above amenities plus a wardrobe, desk and chair, hairdryer, international television and daily housekeeping. The hotel has a 24-hour reception desk. Breakfast is included.

  • Four stars: larger rooms for a comfortable budget. Rooms have the above amenities and bathtubs are also available (please request when booking). The hotel has a bar, restaurant and laundry service. It may also have room service, a business hub and a gym and/or spa.

  • Five stars: luxury rooms for a high-end budget. Five star hotels would typically have an indoor pool and 24-hour room service. There are no five-star hotels in Iceland.
