Every Icelander owns a lopapeysa. It's the traditional sweater with a wide, decorative yoke around the neck, often evocative of snowflakes. Icelandic wool is not spun, which means there is more air in the knit and remarkably this makes this lightweight sweater more insulated in the winter yet cooler in the summer. It even does its job when it's wet.
