You won't be surprised to learn that the majority of religious people in Iceland are Christians. There are 276256 of them, most of whom belong to the Church of Iceland (fewer than five per cent of the country's Christians are Catholic). More surprising, though, is the second-most popular faith: heathen paganism, which has 6454 adherents. Though this is but a small number compared with the followers of Christ, it's really remarkable when you consider how many people in Iceland follow other religions: third comes Buddhism (1451), then Islam (948), Bahá'í (363), Judaism (c. 250) and finally Hinduism, which apparently has a mere five adherents in the whole country.
